“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.” ~ Iain Thomas, I Wrote This For You
“I have lived a long life and had many troubles, most of which never happened.” ~ Mark Twain
“When you hang out with whiners, pessimists, tweakers, bleakers, freakers-outers and life-is-so-unfairers, it’s an uphill climb to keep yourself in a positive headspace. Stay away from people with tiny minds and tiny thoughts and start hanging out with people who see limitless possibility as the reality. Surround yourself with people who act on their big ideas, who take action on making positive change in the world and who see nothing as out of their reach.” ~ Jen Sincero, You Are a Badass
This is a story of two dogs.
Both at separate times
walk into the same room.
One comes out wagging his tail while the other comes out growling.
A woman watching this
goes into the room to see
what could possibly make one dog so happy
and the other so mad.
To her surprise
she finds a room filled with mirrors.
The happy dog found
a thousand happy dogs looking back at him
while the angry dog
saw only angry dogs growling back at him.
What you see in the world around you
is a reflection of who you are.
“Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.” ~ John Wooden
“I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.” ~ Steve Jobs
