Make Me Do What I Can
“What I need is someone who will make me do what I can.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Trying your best is one thing I wish more people truly did. The problem (that I’ve been noticing lately at least) is that most people tend to feel like they’re trying their best when really they are holding way back from their true potential because of fears, pre-dispositions, and peer influence.
This is why I feel that it is so important for us to connect with people that will push us – because otherwise we fall into the trap of personal comfort zones and excuses.
I don’t know about you, but I want to know what I’m really capable of inside. I want to know what I can accomplish and who I can influence and what I can influence them to do.
No wasted days. Always moving forward – And always chasing the ultimate me.
When you think about it… How much human potential is wasted every day on never ending video games, absurd entertainment, stupid dead-end jobs, and money chasing schemes alone…?
What could have been created instead if all of those minds were connected and all of those hours were accumulated and each person was fueled by the power of the human spirit…? It’s a question I reflect on a lot.
Now, my intention with this thought is not to put anybody down or to demean how people spend their time.
Who am I to tell you what to do or how to live your life…?
My only intention is to inspire positive change, to have people connect (and re-connect) with their passions, and to encourage people to reach out to (and keep in touch with) people that inspire them to create and lead and be uniquely themselves… Because in my opinion, the world needs more connection, conversation, and people that lead the way.
